Municipal Development ​

International Drive, Horry County, SC - This project is a five (5) mile long, vital transportation artery connecting SC Highway 90 to Robert Grissom Parkway. DDC was chosen by Horry County to provide the design and regulatory permitting for this RIDE II funded project. A major obstacle to development of this road was the requirement by the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources to protect the black bears located in this area. DDC  representatives, along with key assistance from our State Delegation, was able to work through this requirement and as a result of the savings, the road was constructed as a four (4) and five (5) lane section with a multi-purpose path. We at DDC are extremely proud of our involvement in this project and, as a local firm, look forward to the difference this important road will make for the traveling public of the Grand Strand. International Drive opened to the public on July 25, 2018.
