South Conway Route Study and New 12-Inch Steel Gas Line (Phase 2A) - DDC Engineers (DDC) was retained by SCE&G, now Dominion Energy to study and recommend route options for the installation of a new 12-inch steel gas main in order to replace the 6” steel gas line that currently services Myrtle Beach and was initially installed in the 1960’s. The route recommended by DDC, depicts Hemingway Chapel Road to the Waccamaw River along the Santee Cooper power line to Pitch Landing Road in Conway, South Carolina for a distance of 19,994± linear feet long which (3.8± miles).
DDC provided the surveying and civil engineering design services in order to permit and construct the project. DDC’s survey personnel was on-site during the pipe installation (while the welding and or boring was being performed) in order to capture the pipeline data for the installation of the new 12-inch steel gas main which crossed Liz Lane, Pitch Landing Road and Copperhead Road by Jack and Bore below the roadway surface from right-of-way to right-of-way.
