Savannah’s Playground, Myrtle Beach, SC - This project was planned and designed to accommodate children with disabilities and is located within the Market Common area of Myrtle Beach. (Myrtle Beach's first year-round playground) The park’s first phase includes the playground, as well as a musical park. When complete, it will include a number of components, such as adapted paddle boats and a zip line that will allow children with disabilities to take part of.
Phase 2 of Savannah's Playground is under construction and includes several all-inclusive play structures, offering additional opportunities for kids of all ages and abilities to enjoy themselves. DDC worked with the City of Myrtle Beach and Carolina Parks and Play, LLC to conceive this next phase. This phase expanded the current playground footprint to the opposite side of the existing pond. In order to make room for the expansion, a portion of the pond had to be filled in. DDC's civil engineers and landscape architects help bring this project into fruition.
